Information:

This Bourgeois OM Country Boy is a gem, and features a back & sides made of excellent looking and sounding quartersawn south Amercian Mahogany. Mahogany has a quick velocity of sound, relatively lightness of weight, and noticeable midrange overtone attenuation. As a result, mahogany guitars have their own sound. Warm, dry, woody, not particularly complex, but direct, lively, and famously easy to record. Dana Bourgeois says:  “Mahogany guitars are often looked at as poor cousins of rosewood guitars, but we politely disagree; we have dressed  the Country Boy in classic appointments such as ebony fretboard and bridge, wooden rosette, tortoiseshell binding and nickel Waverly tuners. We also consider it worthy of the same diamond volute that we use on the back of our Vintage Dreadnought peghead. In addition to selecting only the finest quartersawn and matched South American mahogany backs and sides, this particular Country Boy is appointed with a fantastic looking Aged Tone Sitka Spruce top, ebony fretboard and bridge and looks superb thanx to its High Gloss finish.

Bourgeois models include the following features:  25.5” Scale Length, One piece Mahogany Neck,  Bone Nut & Saddle, Ebony Fretboard & Bridge, High Gloss Body and Satin Neck Finish, Mother of Pearl Bourgeois headstock inlay, Bourgeois Premium Tortoiseshell style pickguard, Ivoroid Bridge Pins and End Pin and its original Deluxe hard shell case. The logo inlaid headplate on this guitar appeared (to us at least) to be Brazilian rosewood – but it’s not, it’s Ziricote which is every bit as beautiful.  The fingerboard is ebony with 8 tiny mother of pearl dotmarkers in 7 positions; tuners are actual Waverly brand open-gear with butterbean buttons, the top is trimmed in black/spruce (not to be confused with the bass player from Cream) and then tortoise shell outermost on each of the sides.  The heel cap is rosewood and the end graft mahogany.

The sound is clean, clear and delicious. This guitar is a 2017 model, second hand, but barely played, almost flawless, with super light surface scratches, one pick dent on the top and super minimal fretwear on 2 or 3 first frets. It was kept safe in its original case most of its lifetime and barely played.
