Another truly iconic guitar, and for good reason: this stunning Ibanez PS10LTD Paul Stanley Iceman is the most collectible and faithful limited-edition version of the legendary Iceman. The Ibanez PS10LTD Paul Stanley Iceman is every bit as iconic as the famous KISS guitarist himself.
With the “Iceman,” Ibanez introduced a phenomenal design in the 1970s that perfectly captured the spirit of the glam rock era and quickly achieved remarkable success. This popularity was undoubtedly helped by the fact that KISS frontman Paul Stanley frequently appeared on stage with various versions of this model. The PS-10 was first introduced in 1978. The example presented here dates from 1995 and represents an evolution of the original PS-10: the limited-edition PS-10LTD. Some sources estimate that approximately 1,000 units were produced, of which around 300 were distributed through regular Ibanez dealer channels. It is also said that the remaining guitars were purchased by Paul Stanley himself and later sold during fan club events, auctions, meet-and-greets, and other special occasions. Regardless, the spirit of the original PS-10 has been fully preserved.
The guitar features a mahogany body with a maple top, a maple neck, and an ebony fingerboard. The aesthetics of the PS10LTD are equally impressive, with elegant body binding, sophisticated inlays, and beautifully crafted tuner buttons. The signature truss rod cover and mirrored pickguard perfectly complete the overall look. The original Ibanez humbuckers deliver an authentic classic rock tone, while the playability of the instrument is outstanding. This 1995 version rarely appears on the market, especially in the condition of this particular example. Simply put, this guitar looks virtually brand new and deserves to be described as a true “New Old Stock,” “Time Capsule,” or whatever term collectors prefer to use. There is not a single playing mark, scratch, or blemish to be found. The frets are, of course, in like-new condition.
This guitar was clearly part of a collection and was played only sparingly. Knowing the previous owner personally, we have every reason to trust the experienced collector and musician from whom we acquired it. This superb and rare guitar comes complete with its original case in near-mint condition and its original certificate signed by Paul Stanley.
