Here is a fantastic original ES-175 from 1954 that shows minimal signs and playwear. With its original finish, this magnificent guitar is also a fabulous player. The condition is excellent for its age, a few small dents, small marks and playwear, a few light scratches and obviously the usual weather checking of the varnish, all over the body. It’s abolutely beautiful, and gives an obviously vintage look, well, that guitar definitely is vintage. This is above all normal and quite usual for Gibson archtops and solid bodies of this era to have extensive weatherchecks… What is less usual is the fact that this 1954 Gibson ES-175 is in such good condition and is so light and fabulous to play…
This instrument is entirely original with the exception of the strap button on the body and the second strap stud on the neck heel, which has been added. The original frets have been played but are in excellent condition with no grooves or dents. The Kluson Single Line tuners are typical of the 50s. The original P90 is powerful, and there are no faults or electronic issues, which are entirely original and untouched. This guitar opens up and delivers the full, round sound that one expects from such a pickup. The pickguard and potentiometer knobs are also original, as is the brown Lifton hardcase.
Original finish and sunburst, no overspray or refinish. Original pickup, electronics, and hardware (with the exception of the two strap buttons), all in perfect condition. This guitar is in addition to being splendid and in excellent condition, a super player, with fabulous playing comfort and with a really great sound. And what’s more, the beauty comes with its original Gibson Lifton Brown case in excellent condition.
