What a gem !!  This splendid original Martin 0-18 in excellent condition is from 1948 and really look perfect for its age. Such instruments in such condition, definitely a real surprise. A very small crack on the lower edge of the top, repaired a long time ago, and almost invisible (we can barely guess it on one of the close-up photos), here is ultimately the only damage this guitar has, all the other concerns being only small marks, scratches and playwear. This beauty has its original finish, its bracings perfectly glued and intact, an original brazilian rosewood bridge in perfect condition that was not repaired or glued back and a splendid brazilian rosewood fingerboard with large veins. Original frets, in perfect condition, obviously low, and above all the neck, perfectly fitted, requiring no neck-reset and offering a perfect playing comfort. This stunning 0-18 comes with an absolutely exceptional Honduran mahogany back and sides, with deep veining and superb grain. The Sitka top has superb grain the veins are straight and tight. The good fairies have really leaned on the cradle of this 0-18…

This extremely comfortable instrument, both to play and to hug given its small size, fortunately has a superb timbre and acoustic possibilities. This 0-18 from 1948 does not sound nothing like a small guitar. The magnitude and volume of the sound are surprising. The definition is exceptional, the notes are perfectly articulated, and the balance of the sound spectrum is truly perfect. The tone obviously has a very wooden touch with a frank opening of the midrange. This guitar is particularly suitable for finger play. which seems logical given the size of the body.

Purchased in 1999 by its previous owner, who is a monstrous guitarist and musician, this splendid Martin 0-18 from 1948 is ready for a new spin and will delight collectors and musicians alike.
