A really cool guitar !!! This pre-owned Stratocaster is in excellent condition, with just two small dings on the body that are barely noticeable. This cool American Vintage II Strat is further proof that Fender still knows how to build great guitars outside of its Custom Shop. Lightweight and resonant, this American Vintage II ’61 really has very little to envy in its more expensive Custom Shop counterparts. Truly impressive.

The Fender® American Vintage II series offers a remarkably accurate recreation of the revolutionary designs that changed the course of musical history. Built with period-correct bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes and meticulously voiced, year-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship and tone.

During the late 1950s and early 1960s, Fender musical instruments grew increasingly popular. Although the Fender lineup had expanded to include many outstanding new models, the Stratocaster® remained firmly at the top. By 1961, the Stratocaster had evolved into a more refined design, featuring a revised 3-Color Sunburst finish with a more vibrant red and bolder black edges, complemented by a 3-ply pickguard that accentuated the Stratocaster’s signature curves.

Featuring a premium alder body, a trio of Pure Vintage 1961 Stratocaster pickups and a maple neck with a medium “C” profile, paired with a 7.25-inch-radius slab rosewood fingerboard, the American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster faithfully recreates the distinctive tone and feel of the original. Other features include a vintage-correct synchronized tremolo with a cold-rolled steel block and bent steel saddles, single-line “Fender Deluxe” tuners and a 3-ply pickguard.

The instruments in the American Vintage II series are direct descendants of the original Fenders. Designed for players who appreciate the tone and feel of vintage Fender instruments, they are built to exceptional standards of quality, right down to the last screw. These electric guitars represent Fender in its purest form.
