Oh, this one really has it all! Exceptional build quality, light weight, incredible versatility thanks to its Piezo sensors and splittable soapbar humbucker, and, of course, an absolutely stunning look!
This superb 2019 F Bass AC4, finished in the beautiful Antique Red Burst Matte, features an especially elegant finish that beautifully highlights the construction and natural character of the woods. The bass is in excellent overall condition, with only a few scattered small marks, light scratches and minor cosmetic flaws from normal use. For example, the pickup cover has been repainted red, and some of the paintwork is visible upon closer inspection. Nothing major, however, and most importantly, none of these cosmetic imperfections affect the instrument’s musical qualities in any way. The neck and frets are in perfect condition, providing an outstanding playing feel and flawless response.
The bass features an exceptionally refined construction, with a chambered maple body topped with a spruce top, delivering richness, depth, definition and beautiful acoustic resonance. The 3-piece quarter-sawn maple neck, with its modern profile, is paired with a Gabon ebony fingerboard featuring a progressive 10″ to 16″ radius, offering an excellent balance between comfort, precision and effortless playability. The nut width is 42 mm (1 5/8″), while the 28 frets provide excellent access across the entire 34″ scale length. The headstock also features a matching finish, perfectly complementing the body, while the neck has a varnished finish.
On the electronics side, this AC4 showcases all the expertise of F Bass, featuring an F Bass preamp combined with an exceptionally versatile pickup configuration: RMC Piezo pickups integrated into the bridge, along with an F Bass stacked single-coil/hum-cancelling magnetic pickup in the bridge position. This combination delivers an extremely wide tonal palette, ranging from very natural, precise and dynamic sounds to more powerful and modern tones, while retaining the clarity and articulation for which F Bass instruments are renowned.
The controls offer tremendous flexibility. The first row features the magnetic pickup volume, with a push/pull function to switch between single-coil and hum-cancelling modes, the Piezo volume, and a Master Tone with push/pull switching between active and passive operation. The second row provides Bass Boost, Mid Boost and Treble Boost, allowing the sound to be shaped precisely according to the amplification and playing situation. The bass is also equipped with a two-way truss rod, allowing for precise and stable neck adjustment.
A truly beautiful F Bass: refined, exceptionally well built and remarkably versatile. It will appeal equally to the demanding professional bassist and to anyone looking for a high-end instrument capable of covering an extremely broad range of styles and tonal applications. It comes complete with its original F Bass deluxe padded gig bag.
A fantastic opportunity to acquire a 2019 F Bass AC4 in excellent overall condition, with a perfectly healthy neck and flawless frets, combined with an exceptional level of craftsmanship, construction and finish.
