Here’s a superbe and rare Fender Stratocaster from 1960, all original apart from a very good refret job done in 2021. That Stratocaster has all its solders intacts, its original body finishes and all its original parts. Apart from the refretting and the nut, everything is original and has not been modified or changed, perfect. Leadmusic offers you an exceptional instrument, both in terms of its originality and its playing comfort. This superb Stratocaster came to us with the appraisal document made and signed by Stan Jay of Mandolin Brothers, its original tremolo arm and a original tremolo spring. Two Fender string set packages from the mid 60’s come with this guitar, and for sure, the original Brown Tolex hardcase is present as well.

But hey, the originality of a vintage instrument is not everything, the beauty is a marvel to play. The neck is absolutely perfect, with a low action, fabulous comfort with the new frets, not too low, super pleasant to the touch and comfortable as possible. In addition to the neck and the playing comfort, it is especially the baby’s resonance that impresses. Light and perfectly ergonomic, this Strat is a delight. And as for describing the sound, well we’re missing words… But the Rock’n’Roll tones of these vintage beauties is there, and rather strong and ample. The tone is truly incomparable to current versions and this guitar’s resonance is really an advantage in terms of grain, softness of tone and sound.  And since the neck is a comfortable B profile typical of the end of the 1960s, it’s a great fit (I have 60 Strats with thinner necks). Speaking of the neck, the Rio fingerboard is absolutely superb.

The pickups are original, with the original, untouched solder points. The pots are from 1960. The pickups are Black Bottoms and, again, the solders are intacts. The pickguard shield is present and the pickguard has barely shrunk. All parts, plastics, hardware, are original. The body has marks, scratches, small dents and numerous playwear, especially on the edges and the back. That baby was well played… But what a look!!!
