Xotic, an American brand, is part of the Prosound Communications Japan group, and the Japanese workshops have nothing to envy from the finest American Custom Shops. We have owned many Xotic basses in the past, and the build quality and overall comfort of these instruments are consistently top-tier. But this one truly has something extra… perhaps the fifth string?

A very lightweight, premium-grade alder body, a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, classic ergonomics — a Precision Bass, therefore — but with an astonishing level of playing comfort. The onboard electronics are phenomenal: the Tri-Logic 2 system with volume, balance and tone controls, a push-pull for active/passive operation, and a mid-frequency control pot. Equipped with original Xotic pickups featuring a beautiful wooden finish, this instrument has nothing to envy from the best Fender, Sadowsky and other P-Bass references.

This extremely versatile bass has everything it needs to perform, and thanks to its active/passive switch, 3-band EQ and 2-position mini toggle, all playing styles and tonal registers are covered — no need to list them all, right? The Tri-Logic 2 is an absolutely outstanding onboard preamp, with a truly musical and generous headroom. The controls are extremely effective and give this superb bass a rare level of versatility. A real success.

This bass, in strictly mint condition, was presented at NAMM 2026 and was one of the instruments brought by Xotic Japan to demonstrate their craftsmanship and the quality of their production.
