Ah, if I didn’t already have 1,957,823 instruments at home, I would definitely have kept this beauty for myself… So yes, I took the risk of asking for a color I absolutely love, Champagne Sparkle, and of course I knew what to expect from Kauffmann: a superb guitar that’s light, comfortable, and that completely buries American Fano and Novo guitars. So it’s really my own fault if this beauty has been catching my eye ever since Leadmusic received it… What a bomb!!!
The Cozy TM is Kauffmann’s vision of how a non-jazz-oriented offset guitar should sound. It’s a guitar that will take you from pop to rock to indie and back again. This guitar has attitude and is a truly fabulous instrument that lets you play absolutely everything… On top of that, Kauffmann bolts the neck to the body with a slight angle, creating more pressure on the bridge and giving your tone a serious kick. We’re far from Jazzmasters, as iconic as they may be, which ultimately offer a limited tonal range and only average playing comfort. This Kauffmann Cozy TM, on the other hand, is a marvel: an incredibly comfortable neck in both shape and profile, and flawless fretwork. Oh, and the weight… Okay, I’ll stop, or I’ll end up keeping it…
This beauty is equipped with a Cream T Eliminator in the bridge position and a Cream T GT57 in the neck. These pickups will definitely push the guitar into more rock-oriented territory. Of course, it features a Duesenberg Les Trem tremolo, and above all, a roller bridge that gives this Cozy TM a retro yet unmistakably indie character, while staying perfectly in tune thanks to the Schaller bridge with roller saddles. In 2025, Fender legally requested that Kauffmann stop using their original headstocks, as they were considered too similar to Fender’s design. This guitar therefore features the new headstock that Kauffmann created specifically for the Cozy series.
And the Champagne Sparkle finish, and the weight, only 2,84 kg, and the neck comfort with its 6150 frets and 43 mm nut width, and the price, more than 1000 swiss francs cheaper than the entry-level Novo or Fano, and the deluxe gig bag included, and that wonderful smell of Dutch luthiers who sweated over the instrument during its build…
In short, all of this makes me think I should just keep it for myself…
