Jackson was born in 1980 in Southern California and was the first brand to address the needs of hard rock and metal virtuosos by offering instruments with features designed for fast playing. Over the past 40 years, Jackson has continually revolutionized its high-performance instruments and dominates the metal scene as the industry’s leading shred machines. The brand-new Jackson American Series is the next chapter in Jackson’s history and marks the brand’s first flagship product line made in Corona.
Equipped with all essential features, the American Series Soloist SL2 DX HT sets a new standard in the premium high-performance category and inspires players worldwide.
The alder body of the American SL2 is paired with a neck-through three-piece maple neck that enhances sustain and features a pair of graphite reinforcement rods for ultimate stability, resisting warping and twisting caused by temperature and humidity. The 12″-16″ compound radius ebony fretboard with rolled edges and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets plus inverted mother-of-pearl sharkfin inlays is designed for high-speed, technical playing—more curved at the nut for comfortable chord work, flattening out towards the neck for faster playing and bending without fret buzz. Luminlay side dots glow in the dark, providing excellent fretboard guidance even on the darkest stages, while a heel-mounted truss rod adjustment wheel allows quick neck relief tweaks on the fly.
The HH pickup configuration features a Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 humbucker bridge pickup that delivers hot settings and powerful bass, while the Seymour Duncan ’59 SH-1N neck pickup shines with glassy highs and pronounced mids that work well across many genres. The intuitive control layout consists of a five-way blade switch and dome-style knobs for volume and tone. Harness tonal versatility with the five-way switch and single volume and tone controls. Additional premium features include a Hipshot hardtail bridge, Gotoh locking tuners, and Dunlop locking strap buttons.
