In the low-gain setting, the tone delivers a rich, crunchy character—brimming with bite and pronounced midrange presence. Switch to the high-gain mode and the sound becomes sharper and more articulate, with a tighter, more focused drive.
The perfect tonal balance can be achieved thanks to an intuitive control layout: a tone knob functioning as a high-cut filter, a master volume to adjust the overall output level, and a three-stage midrange switch positioned at the top of the pedal. This mid switch shapes the intensity of the mids, progressively boosting them in three distinct steps—from the footswitch side toward the DC jack side—allowing precise tonal sculpting.
By removing the back panel, you’ll find an internal slide switch mounted on the circuit board. This switch lets you select the drive voltage between 9V and 16V. While the LBD2 can operate using either a standard 9V battery or an external power supply, it also features a built-in step-up DC-DC converter that enables 16V operation.
Running the pedal at 16V significantly increases headroom compared to 9V, delivering a broader dynamic range and a more open, less compressed feel. However, since current consumption rises at 16V, using a reliable external power supply is strongly recommended in this mode.
