For the year 2024, Bacci has introduced a new Semi-Hollow serie which on the one hand has a superb look, and on the other hand delivers amazing and so inspiring sounds!! This instrument was one of the two Leonardo S-Hollows presented by Bacci Guitars during the Montreux MIGS in 2024. Bruno Bacci, after spending more than three years researching and developing his first Leonardo Dual Output model, this time delivers an exceptional Baritone featuring a slightly shorter 28” scale and a semi-hollow body with a magnificent walnut top, noce in Italian. This baritone guitar was designed to push the boundaries of music by unleashing unconventional tones and inspiring creativity, while maintaining the highest levels of playability, beauty and quality.

This new Leonardo S-Hollow Noce model is killer, and our guitar is the first S-Hollow Noce instrument built with vibrato, and is the guitar that Bacci built to market and present this new model in Europe in April 2024. Bruno Bacci told me he took his finest piece of walnut to make the top of this guitar, and there is no doubt that our instrument has spectacular woods!! The mahogany body is also superb, and one of the particularities of Bacci instruments can be enjoyed by making the Leonardo S-Hollow resonate: the sound is uniform and equally powerful whether near the neck, on the back or on the front of the instrument. That’s crazy !!! The resonance and sound diffusion are balanced and all parts of the guitar resonate, both the neck and the alder body. This comes from the quality of the craftmanship, and Bruno Bacci listens to all the wooden parts of his guitars and assembles a top with a body, and then a neck with the complete body, according to the resonances of each of these elements. The results are astonishing, because you will have the impression of hearing the acoustic timbre of your Bacci guitar both near the neck and at the body of the instrument.

One of its most revolutionary features is the inclusion of a second output, exclusively dedicated to the bass pickup located on the baritone’s three bass strings. This innovation expands the sonic possibilities of the instrument, allowing for a much richer and deeper sound that opens up new playing techniques and artistic ideas. Experience complete immersion into unexplored musical realms with the S-Hollow Noce. Although it uses the same six strings as a traditional guitar, this instrument offers a distinctive way of projecting sound. The other particularity of this splendid guitar is the Duesenberg Les-Trem vibrato bridge which adds a distinctive element to this instrument, and which above all develops the sound possibilities. This tremolo was chosen by luthier Bruno Bacci because of its ability to perfectly hold the tuning during use, and because the installation of the Les-Trem also avoids cutting the body wood when installing the models. standard tremolos.

Bruno Bacci designed all pickups in the Leonardo line in collaboration with Dreamsongs Pickups, an Italian company known for its exceptional manufacturing capabilities. For the Leonardo Noce, Dreamsongs™ Pickups created a set of Gold Foil-style pickups that capture the brilliance of the sound without sacrificing depth. They have also developed modern bass pickups that excel at capturing the sound of the fourth, fifth, and sixth strings for the instrument’s second output.

What inspired a second version of Bacci’s Baritone with this new 28” scale? The scale length allows for a wide spectrum of low frequencies. The 13/72 strings, supplied by DOGAL, a renowned Italian artisan string company, are finely tuned to complement these attributes. While the baritone guitar already has a lower register than a standard guitar, Bruno Bacci’s innovation has propelled this instrument to new heights in sound. By connecting the second output to a bass amp, the fourth, fifth and sixth strings resonate with a depth that mimics a bass guitar, amplifying both its volume and amplitude.

This instrument is a marvel of comfort and allows truly unique and super interesting registers. This instrument was therefore presented at Leadmusic in mid-April 2024 then at the Montreux MIGS show at the end of April 2024 and was played by Matteo Mancuso. Bruno Bacci recovered this instrument and completely reprepared and checked it in his workshop in Tuscany, and before he delivered it to us in July 2024, he took time together with Tommaso Sturlini, an excellent italian guitarist, to shoot some videos of this unique guitar.
