I saw it, fell backwards, and bought it within a minute… Presented as a one-of-a-kind piece at the January 2026 NAMM Show, this stunning Shabat Leopard guitar embodies all the craftsmanship of the American luthier, with a combination of high-end specifications and an exceptional level of finish. California is a breeding ground for boutique guitar manufacturers, and Shabat is quickly becoming a key player. This Jazzmaster-style model offers a level of playability, tuning stability, and premium feel that Fender never quite achieved with their Jazzmaster — and likely never will… yes, really.
Built with a lightweight alder body, this Shabat delivers natural resonance, precise attack, and perfect balance. The quartersawn maple neck with a beautiful optional rosewood fingerboard provides remarkable stability and optimal playing comfort. Its Medium C profile feels instantly familiar, while the 9.5″–12″ compound radius allows for smooth playing, whether for chords or the most expressive solos. It also makes it easy to play modern licks and pull off wild bends.
The neck heel contour facilitates upper-fret access, while the Fender-style 25.5″ scale length ensures ideal string tension and precision. The guitar features a TUSQ nut, 22 Dunlop Nickel Steel 6105 frets, and Kluson tuners. For the bridge, you’ll find a Mastery bridge and tremolo — the absolute reference for tuning stability and precision. The high-end electronics include optional Lollar JM P90 pickups paired with CTS pots and Orange Drop capacitors, delivering a rich, dynamic, and extremely musical tonal palette. From crystal-clear cleans to more aggressive textures, it’s all there.
Visually, this NAMM piece impresses with a Nitrocellulose Black over Sunburst finish, enhanced by a beautifully executed Heavy Aged treatment. The anodized pickguard and matching headstock further reinforce its unique character and unmistakably high-end look. You’ll easily understand why I fell for this instrument — and this guitar will confirm everything you’ve just read within 20 seconds. What a monster!!
Delivered with its original G&G Custom hardshell case, this Shabat is far more than just a Jazzmaster-style guitar.
