Introduced in 2005, Ibanez’s Korean Prestige production had nothing to envy compared to the initial Prestige Japan manufacturing that Ibanez started in 1996. However, from 2005 to 2008, all Prestiges were manufactured in Korea, and this splendid S2170FW from 2007, a model that Ibanez introduced to the catalog in 2006, is a bomb, in terms of both comfort and aesthetics. And this guitar, which is nearly 20 years old, is like new.

This splendid S2170FW is a little marvel from the S series, launched by Ibanez in 2006 and produced in South Korea as part of the upscale Prestige line. The S2170FW features a poplar burl top with binding on a mahogany body, equipped with a five-piece maple and bubinga Wizard II neck. The neck has a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and a special inlay only at the 12th fret. Its components include DiMarzio IBZ pickups, with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a double-locking ZR tremolo with a removable zero-point tuning stabilizer, a locking nut, and Gotoh tuning machines. Like all Prestige models made in South Korea, the S2170FW was discontinued after 2008, when all Prestige production was transferred to Japan.
Our guitar is a marvel of comfort, ergonomics, and features absolutely superb wood and a beautiful top. The beauty has clearly been played very little, has no marks or grooves on the frets, and doesn’t even seem to have any scratches or dings. Splendid condition.
