The famous Santa Cruz guitar company, founded in 1976 by Richard Hoover, is a reference in the field of high-end acoustics, and this instrument, released in 2001 from the Californian workshops, is an example of what the brand can do. In the Pre-War version, the proven design of this Dreadnought guarantees significant bass response and high overall volume. The Pre-War design package is presented with understated and elegant appointments to emphasize premium materials, tone and finish.
This very attractive Santa Cruz D-PW Pre-War is perfect for the aficionado who enjoys the benefits of a professional boutique instrument featuring Indian rosewood sides and back with a Sitka spruce top, a solid, unpretentious square headstock and a V-shaped handle with volute. The Pre-War design pays homage to its pre-WWII predecessors with an advanced X-bracing and lightweight upper brace. The powerful volume, harmonics and rich presence of this D-PW are a revelation to the uninitiated.
This guitar dates from 2001 and is in good to very good condition. It is clear that the beauty has been played with but only scratches, small marks and traces of play are to be deplored. The first three frets shows very little playwear under the B string, and almost imperceptibly marked under the E string.
