The Terry Rogers Guitars brand began to exist in the early 90s in Jamestown, Tennessee, when Terry Rogers began reselling guitars after configuring and customizing them. After a life of playing the guitar and tolerating the imperfections and drawbacks of the instruments he played, Terry decided to create a guitar like no other – a guitar that took all the little annoyances out of popular models, everything by accentuating the modern characteristics of a fairly recent instrument then, Music Man / Peavey’s Wolfgang designed by Van Halen… This Terry Rogers Mallie is a master guitar for any true guitar enthusiast, professional guitarist and collector.
From the design of the neck, to the woods used, to the hardware and electronics, to the high quality craftsmanship, the Mallie series, created in late 1999 is resolutely comfortable and practical, but one of the peculiarities of the first Mallie is to have been built by luthier John Suhr, who, as a freelance and alongside his activities, built the first few Mallies offered by the brand Terry Rogers. These guitars are very rare, and obviously both the quality of the manufacture and the essences used and the touch of the master John Suhr make them sought-after instruments,
This Mallie from the year 2000 is exceptional in many ways, made by John Suhr, but we repeat, endowed with a highly figured quilt bookmatch maple top, with superb veins, and especially endowed with an incredible neck, with an asymmetrical profile, kind of a Les Paul 59 profile but with a slightly less pronounced edge on one side, which in the end falls under the hand and perfectly fills the palm. It’s a really crazy neck profile, and the curve of the neck, with bare wood, is super comfortable and fast, and thanks to the modern radius 12 ” – 16 ” and the medium frets, there’s ease to play everything, and go very fast if necessary. Non-locking Sperzell tuners, Gotoh license Floyd bridge, figured birdseye maple neck and two Suhr JST humbuckers with a volume push-pull coil split, this basswood body guitar is a marvel for shred and rock.
Excellent condition, no mark or dents, only small playwears and surface scratches here and there, this instrument, although having been played, has obviously been cherished by its two previous known owners, including a really famous one … It comes with its original hardcase, certificate and accessories.
