What a great look !!! Honnestly, this Antigua, at first we wonder what the hell they did, then over time, we say to ourselves that it was still really daring, but here we are, 45 years later, with patina and playwear, what a killer looking guitar!!! This original Stratocaster from 1980 is a Hardtail version, with a weight of 4.25, the beauty is on the heavy side, but it’s okay, and delivers super comfort thanks to the refret job which was done many years ago. Given the size of the frets and the replaced nut, this seems refretted to us. The frets are quite high, round and without grooves or marks.
This 1980 Standard Stratocaster has its original Fender pickups, the Dan Smith era X1s from the 80s, and the solders and electronics are all original. Only the nut and the hardcase are not original. The finish really looks great, and in addition to the small dents on the edges, very small chips, scratches and other playwear, it is obvious that a previous owner tried to make the finish more Relic and rubbed and scratched on the armwear and on the pickguard… Good output level and excellent sound, this guitar, with its mechanics and hardware in perfect condition, is a very nice instrument.
This great looking original 1980 Fender Strat Hardtail Antigua comes with a non-original hardcase.
