Information:

What a killer guitar!! To begin with, excellent condition for this ES-335 from 1968, and to top it all off, the only modifications to this beauty were to convert it to a Stoptail, and it had other tuners for a while, with the holes re-stamped and the old machine head screw holes professionally filled. The original tuners are now back on the guitar and are fully functional. The original trapeze tailpiece is gone, only the screw holes remain on the side near the button, and a stopbar has been added, transforming this instrument into a gem of playability, comfort and giving it the perfect look. 1965 for the potares code (namely CBA 811-1053) and the general specifications, 67 according to the serial number (16 numbers from the year 66 according to Duchaussoir). Anyway, this fantastic guitar has a still perfectly bright red and is in excellent condition.

Offered mainly with a trapeze or with the Bigsby option since the mid 60’s, the ES-335s have undergone some transformations since 1965, notably to the neck. The profile of this original 68 ES-335 is quite round, type C, and has a nut width of 4.1mm, making it really comfortable. The frets are original and in good condition, without signs of wear or damage, and have a perfect height. The playing comfort is phenomenal. This ES-335 is apart from the Stoptail conversion entirely original; machine heads, frets, pickups (T-Top with Patent number), electronics and obviously the finish and the case. Lightweight, this ES-335 sounds as we expect with the ES, but has a roundness and a fullness that we do not find with the recent series. The difference is obvious. The tone is fuller, rounder, more powerful too. It has the typical ES-335 attack and precision, but with an accentuated roundness. This is obviously better.

Instrument in excellent condition with a few surface scratches, one or two small dents here and there, no visible wood, no breaks or damage. Exceptional condition, truly. This wonderful 1968 ES335 comes with its original case.
