And here’s another pre-owned guitar that has made its way back to us in excellent condition, with a few scattered dings and minor playing marks. After a fret dressing and some work to restore the electronics to proper working order, it turns out to be a very fine instrument.
The Fender® American Vintage series offered faithful recreations of the revolutionary designs that changed the course of musical history. Built with period-correct bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes and carefully voiced, year-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship and tone.
During the late 1950s and early 1960s, Fender musical instruments grew increasingly popular. Although the Fender lineup had expanded to include many outstanding new models, the Stratocaster® remained firmly at the top. In 1959, the Stratocaster adopted a more refined aesthetic, marking a transitional year before certain specifications were firmly established. These included the rosewood fingerboard and a 3-ply pickguard that accentuated the Stratocaster’s iconic curves. And what about the colours, you ask? Well, yes, the later-introduced Sherwood Green looks absolutely stunning on this ’59 reissue.
Featuring a premium alder body, a trio of Pure Vintage ’59 Stratocaster pickups and a maple neck with a medium “C” profile, paired with a slab rosewood fingerboard featuring a 7.25-inch radius, the American Vintage 1959 Stratocaster faithfully recreates the distinctive tone and feel of the original. Other features include a vintage-correct synchronized tremolo with a cold-rolled steel block and bent steel saddles, single-line “Fender Deluxe” tuners and a 3-ply pickguard.
Supplied with an original Fender Custom Shop case and tremolo arm.
