Here’s a stunning 1976 Gibson Firebird Bicentennial, a legendary model released to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the United States. This guitar is in good overall condition and keeps all its vintage mojo, weighing in at just 3.38 kilos, with an absolutely irresistible look thanks to its original finish, Bicentennial pickguard, and period-correct hardware.
The headstock had a repair in the past – clean and solid. One of the pickup rings has been replaced (but an original is included in the bag), the electronics and pickup solders have been touched, and the output jack has been changed. This Firebird now comes fitted with new Lindy Fralin pickups (10.3 kOhms in the bridge and 6.6 kOhms in the neck), delivering a gorgeous tone – modern yet still true to the Firebird spirit. And the cherry on top: the two original PAT 2737842 pickups (6.3 kOhms each) are included in the bag, ready to be reinstalled if you want full originality. The pots are original, dated 1377640. The guitar has been refretted and now plays with excellent comfort.
So here’s a 1976 Firebird that’s both a collector’s piece and an excellent player: lightweight, responsive, and with a unique vibe. It comes in a Ritter gigbag, with a strap equipped with straplocks and all the mentioned original parts. A charismatic instrument, perfect for anyone looking for a vintage Firebird at a great price.
