Information:

A legendary guitar, made famous by an equally legendary player. The Rosewood Telecaster will forever be tied to George Harrison, even though the very first prototype was actually built with Elvis Presley in mind. What we’ve got here is an iconic and rare piece from Japan: a 1993 Fender ’69 Rosewood Telecaster (TL69) Made in Japan, complete with a Fender molded ABS hardcase from the 80s.

This A-serial run is highly regarded among Japanese builds, crafted at the legendary FujiGen factory. This TL-69, version ’98, features a chambered rosewood body with a thin maple core. Over time, the edges often take on that slightly “milky” hue as air creeps under the finish—exactly like the original Rosewood, Paisley, and Blue Flower Teles from the late ’60s. That detail makes them look far more authentic than the more recent reissues. The neck is also rosewood, with a comfy U-shape profile, and it’s fitted with a set of Vintage MIJ Telecaster pickups (1 chrome, 1 black). Sound-wise, it’s all Tele charm with a touch of madness—and thanks to that rosewood body, it’s got a uniquely sharp attack.

Completely original, this 1993 FujiGen-made Tele—confirmed by the pot codes—is in excellent shape. Just a few small dings and scratches, plus a little lacquer crack near the control plate. The neck and fingerboard are super clean, and the 22 frets show only minimal wear. Some sources mention that from 1991 the TL69 version ’98 was renamed “900,” but the neck stamps, pot dates, and specs leave no doubt: this is a 1993 original. A rare find in this version.

Delivered in its original 80s Fender ABS hardcase.
