I admit that since the beginning of the 90s, when i saw these instruments regularly arriving in the previous store in which I worked, I have had a weakness and an attachment for these Flying V2s, variations produced for only a few years, from 79 to 81, and so typical of the era when Gibson did everything to stand out. But what great instruments these were, really!!!

This instrument is 100% original and is in great shape despite being 46 years old. These V2 models have a body made of maple and walnut and are equipped with a pair of “boomerang” humbuckers. What a design!!!! And as the beauty is in excellent condition (the current photos are not contractual, ask for our photos) with only small scares on the interior edge, due to a previous strap, a few chips, small dents and buckelwear on the back, but overall, this guitar is really clean and wonderful.

The maple and walnut neck is nicely rounded with an ebony fingerboard and it all looks great. The frets are super clean, without grooves, very slightly flattened but have been polished and ultimately seem to have suffered little damage. The gold Gibson tuners are in perfect working order and the neck is straight and the truss rod works well. Everything offers truly crazy playing comfort. These instruments are generally heavier than standard Flying Vs but our V2 is only 3.49 kilos. Electronically, everything is original, solders, pots and obviously the Boomerang reference pickups. These powerful ones are at 12.8kOhms each and the pots have 1377934 and 139794X codes.

Entirely original, quite light and offering crazy looks and superb playing comfort, this Gibson Flying V2 from 1980 is a little marvel!!!
