In 2010 the famous American company Paul Reed Smith began producing a small series of high-end acoustic guitars, and this instrument, in fairly good condition, is one of the very first manufactured by PRS in 2011 after the partnership with Steve Fisher. This instrument is exceptional both in terms of the general quality and the sound it delivers. PRS acoustics, used by many leading fingerpicking guitarists such as Martin Simpson, Tony McManus, Martin Carthy, Alex Lifeson and many others, have not necessarily been able to overshadow historical references such as Martin or Gibson, but offer a quality of manufacturing and finishes that American dinosaurs would dream of achieving, yes yes yes… Comfortable and inspiring to play, this guitar has clearly spent most of its time in the hands of its previous owner and has been played a lot.

Adirondack spruce top and back and sides are beautiful, Cocobolo with extreme veining and patterns. Peruvian mahogany neck, maple binding and Cocobolo fingerboard with bird inlays and beautiful rosette around the soundhole. The neck is a wide PRS (1 ¾) shape which is extremely comfortable and has a carbon fiber truss rod. The tuners are very beautiful hand-machined Robson tuners. The guitar sounds great, very well balanced and extremely well suited to fingerstyle. Comes with an L.R. Baggs Anthem acoustic pickup installed that sounds great. The neck is straight with no issues and the frets are in excellent condition with small inlays under the B string on the first 3 frets.

Our guitar has been played quite a bit and has many small marks, scratches and scattered dings. Small chips of varnish are to be deplored on the edges, but no major damage, no cracks or repairs. This guitar definitely shows its years of play but is obviously here to last for decades to come. The current photos on the site are not contractual, ask for photos of our guitar.

Inspired by the sound of a Torres Nylon string, this guitar is described by Tony McManus as “the guitar he brings when traveling only allows” one “guitar”. A real gem. Comes with original Ameritage case and all original paperwork.
