Overdrive / Disto / Boosters & Preamp – Leadmusic https://leadmusic.com/en Tue, 01 Jul 2025 14:30:38 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=5.6.16 MXR Rockman X100 https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/mxr-rockman-x100/ Tue, 01 Jul 2025 14:29:16 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=38894 The MXR Rockman X100 Analog Tone Processor revives the signature sonic character of Tom Scholz’s celebrated headphone amp and signal processor in pedal form, offering crystalline cleans, crunchy harmonics, and shimmering modulation.

In 1982, Tom Scholz—visionary guitarist and founder of pioneering hard rock band Boston—designed and released the Rockman X100 headphone amp through his electronics company Scholz Research & Development (SR&D). But it was more than just a headphone amp—with recording console connectivity and several tone tweaking features and built-in effects, the X100 became the secret weapon in the studio that would go on to define the polished, chorus-laden sound of 1980s arena rock.

A key component of the original X100’s sound was a complex compression circuit for keeping the signal clear whether clean or dirty. The MXR Rockman X100 Analog Tone Processor comes equipped with the same circuit, tuned for a slow release on clean modes and a fast release on dirty modes. The overall amount of compression is tied to the Input Gain level—more input gain means more compression.

Like the original, the Rockman X100 Analog Tone Processor features four different presets, selectable via the MODE button: two differently equalized clean modes with high-power sustain and two distinctively gritty dirty modes. The default setting, CLN2 mode, provides a clean, crystal clear tone, while CLN1 mode offers a mid-focused EQ curve for a tight, punchy sound. On the dirty side, Edge mode boasts moderate clipping that’s highly sensitive to Input Gain adjustments and cleans up nicely at low guitar volume levels. Distortion mode delivers high-energy overdrive and sustain that’s perfect for easy, fluid lead tones.

Kernom MOHO Multi-Fuzz https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/kernom-moho-multi-fuzz/ Thu, 05 Jun 2025 06:19:40 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=38809 MOHO is your fuzz time machine. Go from Hendrix’s 60s fuzz to Smashing Pumpkins’ wall of sound. Whether you crave the velcro-like bite of under-biased transistors, the roaring sustain of a Big Muff, or the unpredictable chaos of a ring modulator, MOHO morphs between legendary tones and new sonic territories. The unique Kernom MOHO offers :

  • Seamless Morphing: Explore fuzz tones from vintage to modern with the MOOD knob
  • Analog Warmth + Digital Precision: No emulation, just real analog fuzz circuits

①  Vintage “Velcro” fuzz – The broken Amp
Inspired by early Fuzz Face & Tone Bender circuits, this delivers a loose, gated response with raw character.

② 60s Mojo – Classic Fuzz Face vibes
Dial in warm, singing sustain perfect for blues, psychedelic rock, and vintage Hendrix tones

③ Grunge mode: Big Muff and beyond
Thick, roaring sustain for massive, wall-of-sound distortion à la Smashing Pumpkins.

④ Modern fuzz with synth-like texture
Add octave up/down effects and push into gated, spitty fuzz for glitchy, experimental tones.

⑤ Fuzz meets Ring Modulator – Enter the Cosmic Zone
Cross-modulate your fuzz for synth-like chaos—perfect for sound designers & boundary-pushing musicians.

MOHO goes beyond traditional fuzz circuits— the ELECTRICITY knob introduces a built-in analog octaver & ring modulator, allowing you to reshape your fuzz tone in radical ways.

  • Octave Down – Thickens your fuzz, adding subharmonic growl perfect for doom, sludge, and heavy riffing.
  • Octave Up – Creates piercing, Hendrix-inspired octave fuzz for leads that slice through the mix.
  • Ring Modulator Mode – Unlocks synth-like, metallic overtones for completely alien soundscapes.

DS Custom XPC Prescription Experience Fuzz Clone https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/ds-custom-xpc-prescription-experience-fuzz-clone/ Wed, 19 Mar 2025 16:09:25 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=38207 The XPC is the DS Custom version of a clone of one of the best fuzz pedals available, the Prescription Electronics Experience Fuzz. The goal was to create a faithful reproduction, but also to make a few modifications to further improve the fuzz. That’s why DS Custom placed the potentiometers on the top of the unit rather than on the side. We also added LEDs to the footswitches to indicate which switches are active.

You’ll also notice the Stock/Mod switch, which only affects the pedal’s Swell circuit. On the original unit, the Swell sounded a little off on the lower frets. So DS Custom added a small modification that improves the sound on the lower frets without affecting anything else.

And as a result, the XPC is one of the most fabulous fuzz pedals on the market, faithfully reproducing the gain of the Prescription Electronics references.

Zuta FRED Filter-Resonance-Envelope-Distortion https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/zuta-fred-filter-resonance-envelope-distortion/ Tue, 04 Feb 2025 07:51:02 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=37990 Meet FRED = Filter + Resonance + Envelope + Distortion. FRED is amplifying, twisting and swirling frequencies in sometimes chaotic ways and will sometimes lead your tone into many unpredictable directions. FRED is very sensitive to what you feed it with. It was originally designed for Electric Bass Guitar but turned out to be fun to play with any signal coming into it. Chasing the perfect tone is a never-ending task and when the technical side is satisfied, the aesthetics are in line. This pedal is a creative Envelope Filter and with its wacky sound color it will spice up your guitar tone by adding a certain dose of vocal characteristics. For the grit lovers an overdrive signal path is included and accessed by pressing the MOD button, which in combination with the Envelope Filter generates pronounced distortion, especially in the bass frequency range.

Zuta BANDIT Frequency Booster https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/zuta-bandit-frequency-booster/ Tue, 04 Feb 2025 07:35:37 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=37972 A true bandit that hijacks the dull sound of a guitar and completely transforms it into a rich tone. The BANDIT is a top signal booster and seriously motivates the amp to produce a unique overdrive that has tube amp qualities. It works like a limited parametric EQ with the possibility to adjust the Q-Value and a narrow sweep of a specifically chosen frequency band hence the name “BANDIT”, and with the LEVEL control you chose the amount of FX will be in the mix between wet and dry signal. Pushing the level creates a E-bow kind of sound, very tubular but not hollow, rather cutting through a dense mix like a Razor Blade.

Zuta DUALITY dual Overdrive & Gate https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/zuta-duality-dual-overdrive-gate/ Tue, 04 Feb 2025 07:20:05 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=37964 Overdrive is one of the most commonly used effects in the guitar world. It’s a never-ending quest to find the right one. That’s why we doubled it. The combination of vintage and modern overdrive provides the opportunity to shape the tone range from stoner rock to djent. Anything in between can be fine-tuned with the individual tone and drive controls (and modern-only shape control). The analog circuit distorts the sound more than enough for the guitar to cut in the mix. A studio quality sound confined by a master gate.

Zuta TRIAX Boost & Gate pedal https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/zuta-triax-boost-gate-pedal/ Tue, 04 Feb 2025 07:11:05 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=37957 Every amp that was ever built could use a boost and will sound better. Feeding it with a stronger signal makes it work on a totally different level. The sound is amplified, thicker and more powerful but that’s true for the noise too. Especially in a long chain of effects.

A perfect solution for these tricky situations is a combination of a boost and a gate. A total of 30db transparent BOOST and a unique innovative GATE defined by the fast reaction and smooth transitions, provide a solid punch for the desired tone. On top of that, a COLOR switch allows for a quick and easy mid tones shaping.

The TRIAX solves a lot of technical problems on its own and also provides a solid ground for comfortable playing with self confidence.

Greuter Moonlight Fuzz Face https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/greuter-moonlight-fuzz-face/ Tue, 07 May 2024 06:29:10 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=36348 The Moonlight is the Greuter version of the legendary Fuzz Face. Since an original Fuzz Face is not always easy to use, we designed the moonlight to adapt better without loosing the vintage character and feel. The Moonlight works very well with your guitar volume pot. Set a fuzz sound you like and roll down the volume on your guitar and get wonderful clean sounds, dirty but dynamic overdrive or classic fuzz sounds from just your volume pot.

The „Input“ Control sets the input impedance. Similar as if you would roll down the volume of your guitar, the fuzz cleans up. That let’s use the pedal as a low gain overdrive even if you plug in a guitar with high output pickups. With the „Bias“ control you can dial from a higher gain fuzz with fizzier top to lower gain almost overdrive with more headroom and more output volume. And in-between there you find your favorite.

The Bias is also a great help to find your sweet spot in any situation, since the Germanium Transistors are sensitive to temperature changes. The 3-way switch controls the bass. On the left you have the classic Fuzz Face setting with most bass. On the right the bass is cut but still full and round. In the middle it has even more bass cut for more definition.

This pedal does perform best when first in the signal chain, just after the guitar. It doesn’t like buffers. But it likes overdriven tube amps and overdrive pedals. The russian germanium transistors are selected and matched.
