This single-channel amp head features a tube preamp and power stage, as well as a footswitchable +20 dB boost option, allowing you to control the amp for solos and lead vocals. Our head is in like-new condition, obviously barely played and only at home. The original shipping box, footswitch, and dust cover are included with this amp head. The Astoria AST3-112 cabinet is a superb 1×12″ mounted with a 75W Celestion Creamback, also in like-new condition.

These new MK Overdrives have absolutely incredible dynamics and sound amplitude and deliver, in addition to completely crazy tone and natural compression, absolutely fabulous distortions and overdrives. The Victory MK Overdrive was designed with the aim of being the only tube amp you will need and according to the company and its designer, Martin Kidd believes he has designed the most versatile amp of his career, and there were some very, very good ones during the Cornford years… But here the MK Overdrive nails everything!!! The MK Overdrive develops 100 watts through 4 6L6 tubes and delivers all the tones worthy of the best amps on the market. The MK Overdrive is an amp designed to be versatile enough to suit almost any saturation enthusiast, sure, but the Clean channel has its own gain control, its own EQ and its own presence and resonance controls, and there’s additionally a voice switch which adds more upper mids when set to setting 2. With separate Clean and Overdrive channels, as its name suggests, the MK Overdrive is a real beast in the overdrive and distortion registers. The MK Overdrive features separate EQ controls for the Clean and Overdrive channels, making it one of the most versatile and controllable Victory amps to date. Continuing the theme of ultimate controllability, each channel has its own Voice control switches. The Clean Voice control adds a bit more upper midrange, which is noticeable through the treble pot. The Overdrive Voice control affects both gain modes, adding presence in position two and a bit more gain. The MK Overdrive comes with a custom four-button footswitch to control the channel, two types of gain on the overdrive channel, a volume switch for the overdrive channel, and an FX Loop on/off button. These are housed in a custom pedal unique to the MK series and which continues the family’s professional aesthetic.

Victory’s MK Clean was designed with the aim of being the best clean tube amp ever built and according to the brand and its designer, Martin Kidd believes he has designed the best amp of his career, and there had been some very, very good ones during the Cornford years… But now the MK Clean is really a dream amp!!! These amplifiers are manufactured and wired by hand in England and their development took 4 years.

The MK Clean develops 100 watts through 4 6L6 lamps and delivers an ample and hyper-musical headroom. Obviously, with a name like MK Clean, this amp focuses on clean sounds, but the MK Clean can also saturate and has been designed as a platform and the ideal amp to accommodate effects pedals, and particularly overdrives. The amp benefits from 2 voicings which change the character of the mid frequencies, as well as an Accutronics reverb with a long tank, and as the reverb tank is mounted upside down in the amp this allows the quality of the drop of the reverb to be increased in the treble range. For extensive control over this reverb, there are Reverb IN Level and Reverb OUT Level settings. According to Martin Kidd himself, the MK Clean is a perfect amp, certainly with a big headroom, but completely controlled and as I said, musical, so that it can properly exploit overdrive and Boost pedals.

The two preamp voicings allow you to switch between superb dynamics and a 50s style rendition, quite typical of Fender, with this ample and dynamic clean but without being too midrange. And in order to get more pronounced ’60s-style British sounds, with the “Voice” switch you completely change the timbre, getting more high-mids. And to round out the preamp section, you’ll add extra treble and control your low frequencies for increased clarity with the “Bright” and “Bass Shift” switches.
