Sic Boxes WOOSHING MACHINE Ellispe https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/sic-boxes-wooshing-machine-ellispe/ Wed, 10 Jun 2026 12:40:20 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=41480 Alright, I’m not even going to try to explain what the WOOSHING MACHINE does, or ask an AI with some lousy prompt to do it for me. Instead, let me simply tell you that this is one of the most PHASER-y phasers you’ll ever come across. A phaser, yes… but that’s only the beginning, because this beast has a lot more under the hood and ventures into entirely different modulation territories.

A traditional phaser works by creating phase shifts that generate a moving filter (typically a notch filter), which is then swept by an LFO. I could stop there, but that would ruin the pleasure of telling you that, when designing the WOOSHING MACHINE, Simon—the mastermind behind Sic Boxes—decided to take a completely different approach.

Instead of creating phase shifts to obtain a filter, he designed a fully variable filter directly, making phase shift more of a consequence than the starting point. The advantage of this philosophy is much finer control over the filter’s characteristics, its type, intensity, Q factor, and more, resulting in subtler, richer, and far more diverse sounds.

The LFO’s job is to create movement by sweeping the WOOSHING MACHINE’s filter across a defined frequency range (approximately 100 Hz to 2000 Hz on the standard guitar version).

The controls are plentiful:

  • SHAPE Adjusts the symmetry of the LFO waveform by shortening either its rising portion (counter-clockwise) or its falling portion (clockwise), creating wonderfully asymmetrical modulation patterns. (External or internal control depending on the version.)
  • SPEED Sets the LFO rate.
  • TREM Adds a tremolo modulation to the main LFO. (External or internal control depending on the version.) An additional internal trimmer allows the tremolo speed to be adjusted.
  • TYPE Determines both the type and intensity of the filter applied to the signal. At the center position, the filter is essentially flat. Turning the control counter-clockwise gradually introduces an increasingly pronounced notch filter, delivering the classic phaser character. Turning it clockwise progressively creates a band-pass filter, producing tones much closer to a wah effect.
  • Q Controls the filter’s quality factor, determining the width of the affected frequency band. (External or internal control depending on the version.)

The pedal also features two internal adjustments:

  • TremSpeed: an internal trimmer for setting the tremolo speed.
  • FeedBack: determines how much of the output signal is fed back into the filter. The more feedback, the more pronounced and dramatic the effect becomes.

By combining a highly configurable filter with an LFO whose parameters, shape, speed, tremolo, and more, can all be adjusted, the WOOSHING MACHINE delivers an exceptionally expressive and versatile modulation effect.

Finally, an LED visualizes the LFO in real time, making the pedal more intuitive to use while giving the WOOSHING MACHINE a look that sits right on the glorious edge of good taste.

Zuta FRED Filter-Resonance-Envelope-Distortion https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/zuta-fred-filter-resonance-envelope-distortion/ Tue, 04 Feb 2025 07:51:02 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=37990 Meet FRED = Filter + Resonance + Envelope + Distortion. FRED is amplifying, twisting and swirling frequencies in sometimes chaotic ways and will sometimes lead your tone into many unpredictable directions. FRED is very sensitive to what you feed it with. It was originally designed for Electric Bass Guitar but turned out to be fun to play with any signal coming into it. Chasing the perfect tone is a never-ending task and when the technical side is satisfied, the aesthetics are in line. This pedal is a creative Envelope Filter and with its wacky sound color it will spice up your guitar tone by adding a certain dose of vocal characteristics. For the grit lovers an overdrive signal path is included and accessed by pressing the MOD button, which in combination with the Envelope Filter generates pronounced distortion, especially in the bass frequency range.

Zuta CHORUS https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/zuta-chorus/ Tue, 04 Feb 2025 07:43:14 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=37979 Out of all modulation effects, the chorus is the one with mystical charm and warm tone, especially in the analog domain. The layered effect thickens your sound, creating a doubling FX. The internal high voltage design increases the headroom in this classic Bucket Brigade designed Chorus creating a swirling sound, that reminds you of a wind chime moving in circles, made from crystal-like icicles seasoning your tone with its reflections of overtones. Too many controls make it difficult to set up, so we made it easy with the DEPTH and RATE controls retaining the simplicity of this plug-and-play pedal, and the DELAY rotary switch adds 4 different chorus effects with increased complexity, still comfortable manageable with a signal 4 position rotary knob to dial in your favorite setting.

Greuter Vibe https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/greuter-vibe/ Tue, 07 May 2024 06:52:32 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=36359 The Greuter VIBE is based on a famous rotospeaker effect devices from the 60‘s. It‘s basically a 4-stage phaser with a unique LFO curve. From psychedelic chorus to elegante Vibrato sounds. It’s one of these effects which follows your playing without dictating the dynamic.
A vibe sound which never gets lost in a band mix. It supports a articulated way of playing and floats in the room at the same time. . This musical effects pedal delivers the classic vibe sounds you know from Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower and David Gilmour.
In the inside there’s a real light bulb and the important photoresistors for the authentic vintage sound.

Gain: Overall Volume of the Pedal when turned on
Intensity: Intensity of the effect
Vibe: Mix between dry and wet. Here you can control where the phasing is happening. For most depth of Vibe dial between 10:00 and 14:00
Speed: Speed of the LFO Modulation. From slow to very fast. Sometimes the fastest setting can start oscillating and you don‘t hear the effect anymore. Just turn it back and wait two seconds.
Mode: Switches between Chorus (down) and Vibrato (up)
Age: Switches between two Input sections. Up is a darker sounding input with
a lower input impedance. Down switches on a additional input buffer and has
higher impedance, for a brighter and wider sound.

Works with normal 9V dc adapter (negative tip). We suggest a regulated and isolated power supply.

Strymon Ultraviolet Vintage Vibe https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/strymon-ultraviolet-vintage-vibe/ Fri, 15 Mar 2024 12:52:52 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=36034 A warm grittiness to the warble, a rippling, wooshing, bubbling irregularity to the modulation and a dynamic response to your picking are all hallmarks of the true vibe experience. Thicker and chewier than any chorus, earthier than any phaser and uniquely magical in front of a driven amp, the perfect vibe pedal moves you to dig in and play without inhibition. This feeling has been difficult to find outside of large and expensive fully-analog boutique units, but the search for that elusive experience is now over. Delivering vintage vibe tone that’s second to none with simple and powerful controls for instantly obtaining a rich variety of captivating sounds, UltraViolet is the vibe pedal you’ve been looking for.

UltraViolet’s simple and responsive controls provide a wider range of sounds than traditional vibe pedals. In addition to the familiar Chorus (50% wet) and Vibrato (100% wet) settings, there is a new Blend setting (30% wet) for an inspiring variety of more subtle effects. A Bias switch gives you three distinct flavors of sweep shape and tone emphasis, allowing for tons of sonic variation.

At slow speeds, the intensity range has been expanded beyond that of traditional vibe circuits to push even further into warmly undulating sonic territory. UltraViolet gives you all the classic vibe tones—and more. For UltraViolet’s new vibe algorithm, all the elements of the classic optical vibe circuit (and their interdependencies) have been meticulously recreated for a dynamic playing response.

From the effects of bias, speed and LFO waveshape on the pulsing of the lamp, to the response of the light-dependent resistors that set the center frequencies of the staggered phasing filters, the entire system has been duplicated and carefully tuned to produce the very best sounds a vibe pedal can offer. TRS stereo input and output in a dual mono configuration means you can place UltraViolet at any point in your pedal chain with no impact on your stereo image. Full MIDI implementation with 300 available preset locations ensures that UltraViolet is ready for your MIDI rig. In addition to TRS MIDI, there is a USB-C jack for controlling the pedal via MIDI from a computer or for performing firmware updates.

For hands-free control without MIDI you can connect an expression pedal for control over any combination of knobs in any direction (Expression pedal controls Speed by default.) Or attach an optional external switch for tap tempo or favorite recall. Finally, a high-impedance, ultra-low noise discrete Class A JFET stereo input preamp provides exceptional touch sensitivity, dynamics and feel—all in a rugged and elegantly compact form factor.

Empress ZOIA Euroburo https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/empress-zoia-euroburo/ Fri, 03 Sep 2021 13:59:19 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=30570 ZOIA Euroburo is an open canvas to paint your sonic ideas. FM synthesis, CV tools, MIDI tools, audio effects, interface options – all at your fingertips. The Euroburo transforms the rigmarole of interfacing a studio full of music gear and condenses it into one handy little box, which you can then interface with your own studio full of music gear. For those unfamiliar with the original, ZOIA hosts a collection of virtual modules ranging from oscillators, filters and effects to simple utilities, envelope generators and logic that can be patched internally in countless ways to create synthesizers, effects processors, sequencers, and so on. This made the original ZOIA a dream for pedal users: with a little bit of learning, it can be virtually any sort of pedal you wanted and more.

Of course, that sort of approach proved to be hugely attractive to synthesizer users: and because of its thorough options for internal control and even external MIDI control, many people use ZOIA as a full synthesizer as well as an effect processor. Naturally, we wondered from the start what a modular iteration of the ZOIA might look like…and now it seems that it is on the way. Euroburo sports four CV inputs, and an equivalent amount of control voltage outputs (that alone is a significant upgrade from the pedal). There is also a pair of stereo audio I/O, and a dedicated headphone output. To top it off, the module is equipped with MIDI input and output.

With such an amount of connectivity across different formats, the power of ZOIA Euroburo is immediately apparent. It is easy to imagine this module in a variety of setups, though there is still more to be said about the richness, depth, and expandability of its own inner world. Though already hugely impressive, the collection of virtual modules that ZOIA and Euroburo come with is far from complete. There are plans for new modules to be added. There is a sampler module on the way, and who knows what else is in development already. Actually, Empress Effects use a voting system on their website to determine which modules or features will be added to the pedal/module next—so as a user, you get to participate in shaping the evolution of the product. Euroburo has two additional assignable buttons that can change in functionality depending on user preferences, ensuring that some controls will always be there even when you jump to the next patch.

Speaking of which, the module can host up to 64 patches simultaneously, and switching between them is super easy and fast. It only takes a button-press to transform Euroburo from synth to drum machine to effects processor. This makes it an uncommonly powerful performance tool—as pointed out in the video chat, presets in the Zoia are much more than just presets on a synthesizer: presets in the Zoia can make it an entirely different type of instrument or processor altogether. So you can imagine just how powerful a cleverly-programmed Euroburo or two could be: especially since the stereo I/O can be treated completely independently, you could wrench an awful lot of functionality out of a very small setup.
