Acoustic Instruments – Leadmusic https://leadmusic.com/en Wed, 02 Apr 2025 13:33:53 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=5.6.14 1996 Lowden O-12 https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/1996-lowden-o-12/ Wed, 02 Apr 2025 13:32:43 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=38526 Irish luthier George Lowden is a true master, and following the relocation of his workshop to Newtownards, Ireland, the quality and production of these benchmark instruments increased. This period is considered the best by connoisseurs. Here is a splendid O-12 Custom from 1996.

The name change to “O” in the late 1980s left no doubt about Lowden’s desire to clarify what already seemed logical at the time: O simply stands for Original Body Shape. This is the brand’s finest design, with bass, perfect balance, and precise dynamics despite the cedar top and the rather large body size. Mahogany back and sides, superb cutaway, Sitka spruce top, ebony fingerboard, and all bindings are made of wood. In short, the build quality is flawless. This guitar also comes with a Barcus Berry pickup system and delivers a superb sound both acoustically and electronically.

The condition of this guitar is very good considering its age: few marks, very few dents (and very minor ones), no cracks or damage. The frets are in excellent condition, with very minor play marks on some, but nothing serious.

Comes with its original case.

https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/38217/ Thu, 20 Mar 2025 07:43:37 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=38217 What a killer one!! Only 25 pieces were built and available exclusively at the Taylor NAMM 2025 event for dealers present there. Leadmusic was captivated by the beauty and elegance of this superb Custom Grand Auditorium in Figured Myrtle and Sitka Bearclaw. This Taylor Custom #36 C14ce Grand Auditorium is not just a guitar but an instrument so breathtaking that you’ll be pleasantly surprised by its ultimately reasonable price.

The Sitka Bearclaw spruce top astonishes with its natural grain and sublime patterns. This isn’t just any spruce: it’s Bearclaw, a rare and highly sought-after tonewood known for its exquisite finesse and improved stiffness-to-weight ratio, synonymous with increased power, richer harmonics, and unparalleled responsiveness. Every note resonates with crystal clarity, brimming with musical depth and projection. And the back and sides are no exception, featuring the stunning California Myrtle, which Taylor calls Tiger Myrtle, a wood with such striking patterns. With a tonal profile blending the warmth of rosewood, the clarity of maple, and the midrange sweetness of mahogany, Tiger Myrtle delivers a sound that is both powerful and delicate, rich in harmonics and balance.

The custom single-ring, bordered rosette frames the soundhole like a piece of exquisite jewelry, while the figured koa body binding seamlessly outlines the guitar’s curves, adding a golden glow that complements the Tiger Myrtle’s deep hues. The Simons 4-piece Wedge Back configuration enhances structural integrity and tonal symmetry, ensuring a rich, full voice throughout its life. Carved from Neotropical mahogany, the neck offers a smooth, natural playing feel, with a satin finish for an ultra-easy, understated feel. The West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard, bordered in the same ebony, features mother-of-pearl and Hawaiian koa inlays—a stunning combination that enhances every fret. This sonic masterpiece is supported by a West African Crelicam ebony bridge, ensuring impeccable vibration transmission for optimal sustain and tonal fidelity. Taylor Gold tuners with ebony and koa buttons add the final touch of elegance, ensuring tuning stability while complementing the guitar’s natural artistry.

Whether you’re playing a delicate melody with your fingers or strumming passionately, our Taylor NAMM 2025 Custom GA Tiger Myrtle, Sitka Bearclaw Custom #36 responds with an unmistakable voice: warm, balanced, and bright.

2012 Martin DCPA4 Mahogany D Cutaway https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/2012-martin-dcpa4-mahogany-d-cutaway/ Sat, 22 Feb 2025 13:25:27 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=38034 The Martin DCPA4 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar is constructed with solid tonewoods. The back and sides are matched from African sapele, similar in appearance and tone to mahogany. Bookmatched Sitka spruce soundboards utilize Martin’s Hybrid “A-Frame” scalloped bracing.

The DCPA4 features a slim, more parallel taper at the 12th fret, allowing for a more comfortable playing width up the neck. The bridge spacing is also modified to 2 3/16″ – splitting the difference between Martin’s two traditional spacings. Along with the look, feel, and enhanced performance of Martin’s existing Performing Artist Series models, the DCPA4 also has the new, simplified Fishman F1 Analog electronics system.

This second hand guitar was well played but only show normal and light playwear, with a few dents here and there and some playwear om the first few frets. It also had a recent repair made by JVDM lutherie as the bindings were getting loose on the waist of the body, as it very often happens with the Martins from this era.

2004 Martin D-45 Standard Serie https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/2004-martin-d-45-standard-serie/ Fri, 21 Feb 2025 12:33:46 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=34001 Aaaaah, here is THE reference in terms of Dreadnought. This marvel played, of course, and belonged to John Woolloff, and it has so much allure!!! The D-45 brings you back to the best Dreadnoughts, built with superb woods, including Indian rosewood, with beautiful, straight and regular cuts and veins. the top is also superb, in Sitka spruce, and all the instrument has Style 45 bindings and elegant inlays on the top and back. The D-45 is a dreadnought designed to grab your attention as much as it will grab your ears, it’s no wonder players like Gene Autry and Stephen Stills make the D-45 their instrument of choice.

This instrument is a gem and delivers incredible playing comfort. The frets show minimal fretwear here and there, but almost imperceptible in the end. The neck is a highway and the ease of play will not make you forget the crazy sound that emerges from the beauty. Volume, of course, but not only. It’s balanced, and the balance between the big, powerful and defined bass and the treble is perfect. This guitar was played, of course, but in the end it does not show any major damage and it is hard to guess that this Martin D-45 will celebrate its 21th anniversary.

This guitar is used in good condition, with many small dents and light surface scratches, but no major dings or visible damage, and especially without any crack. Comes with its original hardcase and original documents.

Taylor Legacy 810e https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/taylor-legacy-810e/ Tue, 28 Jan 2025 12:22:18 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=37947 This new Legacy series is a great guitar, taking up the lines of the old 10 series, in this case the 810 here, and standing out from the usual 800 series by the presence of an LR Baggs pickup and a high gloss neck. It’s beautiful, sober and it holds its own against many high-end Dreadnoughts.

Honoring the innovations of Taylor designs dating back to 1975, the Legacy 810e offers the sound, look and feel of the original Dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar with updates to select features that enhance the overall performance and aesthetic. Crafted with Indian rosewood back and sides paired with a Sitka spruce top, this model pays tribute to Bob Taylor’s ingenuity and instincts for guitar-making with a big, commanding sound full of warmth, sparkle and blooming overtones powered by traditional X-bracing and Bob’s flair for tonal sophistication. Subtle updates include a modern Taylor neck profile offering relaxed fretting and simple adjustability, along with a slightly newer version of the Dreadnought body that still dates back to Taylor’s earlier days. Appointments recall the original details of early 800 Series guitars, including white binding, a three-ring rosette in green abalone, mother-of-pearl Large Diamond fretboard inlays, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, and ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots. This Legacy guitar includes an undersaddle LR Baggs Element VTC pickup with soundhole-mounted controls. It ships with a deluxe hardshell case and sports a specially designed Legacy interior label.

Collings D1T Traditional https://leadmusic.com/en/produit/collings-d1t-traditional/ Fri, 17 Jan 2025 12:30:31 +0000 https://leadmusic.com/?post_type=produit&p=37920 So there you have it, it’s a fact, Collings has really succeeded in reproducing the most fantastic sounds of the Martin standards of yesteryear, and with their new Traditiolnal variation (ok, new for a few years now anyway), we are at the very top range of acoustics. And this Collings D1T was a long wait given that we ordered it in November 2021 and it arrived in December 2024. But what an exceptional instrument, really!!!

This D1T has a solid mahogany back and sides and a Sitka spruce top. The Traditional series is distinguished by an ultra-thin nitro finish and the absence of Tongue in the bracing (or Popsicle bracing). This Popsicle brace, a brace added in 1939 by Martin, apparently to hold the top at the joint of the fingerboard, slightly changes the tone of the instruments. And as the Pre War standards manufactured by Martin do not have a Popsicle bracing, many modifications and obviously manufacturing of acoustic guitars without the Popsicle (or tongue) have become popular. This D1T is a little marvel and the instrument is ample, delivers a greater sound volume than the usual series and above all offers truly exceptional balance and articulation of notes. The highs are slightly softer, less percussive, but with more ample and distinct harmonics, and the mids are accentuated, particularly in the lower mids. In short, this absence of tongue brace further develops the acoustic side of the guitar. Oh, and this instrument is incredibly light. Equipped with Waverly tuners, a super comfortable neck with a Traditional Neck profile, starting quite round and ending slightly in a V, and with 1 3/4” at the nut, the beauty is a marvel of comfort!!

This superb D1T comes with an original Collings TKL Traditional case and is a marvel of a guitar!!!
